He might complain that most news stories, especially those on TV and radio, don’t provide enough detail or depth for audiences to form thoughtful opinions. They say that only print media – newspapers and magazines – allow for careful reflection and make positive contributions to human life. This, they claim, helps people make a connection between their own lives and what’s happening in the world. Electronic news advocates disagree. They argue that the speed of electronic stories can even save lives. An example is a story about a product that is recalled because it is harmful or even lethal. Once, a baby car seat manufacturer had a seat that was very dangerous. Many people did not find out right away and some children were injured. This happened in 1995. If it happened today, people would find out sooner. People feel that TV news is almost as fast, with radio news falling third and print media coming last. But when it comes to getting the news as soon as it happens, the Internet is often people’s first choice.
