Overview • You will be writing a five paragraph essay to answer a single question: • Overall, was the presidency of George W Bush good or bad for the United States? • Your essay will have three body paragraphs • One focused on foreign policy, one on the economy, and one on societal issues • You must have in-text citations, a works cited page, and at least two sources per body paragraph • You may gather information from the textbook or from reliable internet sources • The “Useful Links” section of my website would be a good place to start

3. Citing Sources • You need a Works Cited page showing complete MLA citations for every source that you use. Here is an easy way to make one: • Open Microsoft Word • Click on the “References” tab at the top • In “Citations and Bibliography,” change the style to “MLA Seventh Edition” • Click on “Manage Sources” then “New” in the middle of the window • Select the type of source at the top (most internet sources are “Document from Web site” • Fill in all the boxes that you can • Click on “OK,” then “Close” • Once you have entered all of your sources, click on “Bibliography” in “Citations and Bibliography” and select “Works Cited”
