  9. Accomplishments 2009 con’t • Annual Ditch Cleanup • More than 40 bags of garbage, tires, old propane tanks, construction debris etc. • Everybody could do their bit by keeping their frontage clean!!!! • Cleaned up Cranley Road for the first time

  10. Community Vision • Middle and Upper Sackville-Lucasville Community Vision has been presented to and approved by Regional Council • Next step is Implementation phase

  11. Park Closing • Parks Currently are closed 10 PM to 5AM • There have been some incidents of vandalism and noise complaints with Police involvement after dark • HRM will repost the parks closed at dusk if the community requests

  12. Area Rate • $75 / home per year for 3 years. Will be in place for 3 years starting 2009 Funds will be used to fund park projects within our community

  13. HRM Burning Bylaw • Currently Under Review • A revised bylaw will be before Regional Council this spring • Should allow for safe burning from October 15 to April 15

  14. Watershed Issues • What goes on the land, goes in the Lakes • Excessive use of fertilizers impacts Lake water quality • Soaps, erosion, contaminants all wind up in the Lakes • Improper Septic Field Maintenance • Bulk septic tank pricing Spring 2010 • Dog Poop - clean up after your pets!!!

  15. Waterstone Covenants • Attached to all deeds in this subdivision by Grantor Armco Communities • Meant to maintain integrity of the neighbourhood • Establishes a list of permitted and prohibited activities

  20. Park Committee • Community Survey was Completed 2006 • Committee Feels That It Needs To Be Updated • Area Has New Residents • Demographics Have Changed • We have 4 Park areas within the area

  21. Parks By-law P-600 • Parks are Posted to Prohibit Motor Vehicles • ATVs, Snowmobiles etc. are not Permitted • Parks are meant for people • No open fires • Parks are ALL Posted as Dog on Leash Areas • Please Pick After Your Pets

  34. No Burn Zone • No Open Burning of Brush at any Time • Camp Fires Not Permitted • Currently, Burning May Only Take Place in Approved Wood Burning Devices • May not be placed on Combustible platforms (Decks) • 4.57 metres (15 feet) from all combustible materials

  35. Burn Zone • Must be not less than 125' from the nearest adjacent dwelling • 50’ from any property line and Combustibles • Permits must be obtained as required • Campfires are permitted 4.57 metres (15 feet) from all combustible materials • Only Seasoned Firewood may be Burned
