Hydromine – Global Project DevelopmentPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity • Cameroon • Mining - 1,600 km2 bauxite concession with 3 million ton alumina refinery • Energy - 1,200 MW and 300 MW hydroelectric dams on Sanaga River system • Agriculture - 250,000 hectare food & biomass project in Adamawa Province • Guinea • Mining - Simandou region iron ore concession with on-site pig iron production • Energy - Countrywide hydrokinetic program to install 2 - 4 GW capacity • Brazil • Energy -Countrywide hydrokinetic program to install multiple GWs capacity • Agriculture - Two 100,000 hectares food & biomass projects in Northeast Other ventures in additional 9 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia
Hydromine – Advanced Technology R&DPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity • Hydromine’s internal researchand development has innovated 4 groundbreaking renewable energy technologies • Hydrokinetic Turbines • Harnesses natural flow of river or tidal current to produce 3 to 8 times more energy than comparable marine technologies with ability for flood control & irrigation • Wind Turbines • Highly aerodynamic ducted design generates 20 times more energy per acre than standard existing windmills at 1/3rd the height and with significant cost savings • Energy Storage • Decoupled to accept various power sources like hydro, wind, solar, & biomass; energy storage does not degrade and is 15% more efficient than batteries • Electricity Generators • Heat recovery system to recycle energy, while 1/5th to 1/10th of the weight per megawatt of conventional generators with 30% less costly rare earths
Hydromine – Advanced Technology R&DPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity 1) 2) 4) 3) • Modular, containerized design allows rapid build-out for localized micro-grids, which will facilitate Cameroon’s rural electrification.
Hydromine – Mining in CameroonPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity • Hydromine is developing world-class 1,600 km2 high-grade gibbsite bauxite concession in the Adamawa Region. • In addition, Hydromine, as minority shareholder with partners Hindalco of India and Emirates Aluminum of the United Arab Emirates (“EMAL”), and possibly others, under their Joint Venture Cameroon Alumina Limited, will erect and operate a 3 million tons per year smelter. • A pre-feasibility has been completed as of last year, and the consortium is awaiting the grant of its Mining License. • Hydromine is of the belief doubling the scale of the project can lower the cost per ton, thereby increasing efficiency and profitability, and is offering alternatives to its partners.
Hydromine – Hydropower in CameroonPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity • In response to a Government request to add more value to Cameroon, Hydromine negotiated concessions for 1,200 MW Grand Eweng and 300 MW Mouséré hydroelectric dam sites. • Both sites have pre-feasibility study finished • Bankable feasibility study for Grand Eweng nearing completion • Hydromine’s Grand Eweng recognized by African Development Bank as the largest private power development project in Africa and transformational for Cameroon and Central Africa. • Grand Eweng alone will double Cameroon’s installed electric capacity • In addition to Hydromine’s original intent to utilize its ultra low-cost hydropower for CAL’s alumina smelter, Hydromine is in discussions to sell up to 50% of its dams’ electricity generation to Nigeria.
Hydromine – Hydropower in CameroonPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity • Hydromine can tap Cameroon’s hydroelectricity potential—the third highest in Africa—through the installation of our proprietary river turbines along the Sanaga River basin without the need to build further subsequent dams. • Including our traditional hydropower projects, Hydromine could produce up to 3,000 MW new total capacity, thereby positioning Cameroon to be a major electricity exporter. Mouséré Grand Eweng
Hydromine – Agriculture in CameroonPartnership for Cameroon’s Sustainable Prosperity • Hydromine has been offered 250,000 hectares in Adamawa Province, which will be for agriculture and biomass production. • The presence of crater lakes, due to a history of volcanism in the region, is a promising water storage option to facilitate irrigation. • Hydromine will develop its agribusiness projects in partnership with premier foreign investors and renowned research institutes such as: • John Innes Centre of the U.K. • National Institute of Agricultural Botany (“NIAB”) of the U.K. • Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Research (“EMBRAPA”) of Brazil • Hydromine is committed to maintaining 50% of production in country for Cameroonians, supporting national food security, job creation, and workforce training.
