The Hobbit The chapters were called: AN UNEXPECTED PARTY ROAST MUTTON A SHORT REST OVER HILL AND UNDER HILL RIDDLES IN THE DARK OUT OF THE FRYING PAN AND INTO THE FIRE QUEER LODGINGS FLIES AND SPIDERS BARRELS OUT OF BOND A WARM WELCOME ON THE DOORSTEP INSIDE INFORMATION NOT AT HOME FIRE AND WATER THE GATHERING OF THE CLOUDS A THIEF IN THE NIGHT THE CLOUDS BURST THE RETURN JOURNEY THE LAST STAGE

3. ON THE BOOK The Hobbit is a book on thirteen dwarves called: Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur , Bombers, Thorin and of course wizard Gandalf. They went on a journey to defeat Smaug the dragon, get their treasure back and so Thorin could become King under the mountain like his father. Right at the start of their journey they meet three mountain trolls. They get swords and food from the trolls big hut in the hill. They next meet goblins in the Misty Mountains and get captured by them but Gandalf saves them and kills the great goblin. They then escape but the Hobbit gets left behind and needs to find his own way out of the mountains. When he does luckily he bumps into the Dwarves and Gandalf. Next they bump into the wargs. The wargs are wolves. Gandalf tries to scare them away by using fire from his staff but instead he sets the forest on fire. They need to get rescued by the eagles who take them to their nests. When Gandalf leaves the Dwarves and the hobbit he warns them not to leave the path in the forest or they will never find it again but they don’t listen to him and leave the path to see what a light is that they see off the path. The next thing that happens is the dwarves get captured and the hobbit needs to rescue them. He finds the dwarves tied up in the spiders web. The hobbit gets the spiders to follow him away from the dwarves and then he backtracks leaving the spiders behind. He then saves the dwarves. The Dwarves then get captured by the elves and the hobbit needs to save them again. They get out of the elves halls by climbing into barrels and traveling down the river. Once they get away they meet the people of lake town who give them the stuff they need to climb the lonely mountain (that’s where Smaug lives). When they started climbing the mountain they tried to figure out where the door is so they could get into the mountain. That night they

4. made camp and went to sleep. The next couple of days they searched for the door until The next couple of days they searched for the door until Bilbo found it. They moved up the mountain till they were right outside the door ,they tried to find out how to open the door. Finally they got in and sent Bilbo down the tunnel with his magic ring on to see if the dragon was in the halls of the mountain. A couple of days later Smaug got really angry because he realized that something had been taken(it was the Arkenstone, Bilbo had taken it).He flew round the mountain and was smashing up things and breathing fire everywhere. Bilbo suggested that they close the door but that meant they couldn’t get out of the mountain till Smaug left it and that seemed very unlikely. But he did!!! They went into the halls that the dwarves had mad long ago and stayed there but the next day a group of people from Lake - town came, they were very angry with Thorin and his company because they had aroused Smaug and he had started attacking lake - town. All the houses had been destroyed and Smaug had hurt and killed a lot of the people trying to fight him off but Bard had saved a very special arrow when he shot it it pierced itself into the bare part of Smaug’s body (the rest of his body is covered in jewels).
