Matthias Grunewald(1470-1528) • A well known northern renaissance artist who leaned away from classical renaissance art style in humanism art, he was profound at religious paintings mainly dealing with Jesus Christ. • Through his successful artist career Matthias Grunewald only completed/illustrated ten magnificent paintings within his lifetime • Life filled with poverty and mis-conception, no one in his lifetime ever realized the greatness of his beautiful art works, some of which are confused to be Durer’s art work when in reality it was Grunewald.
