  3. Welcome and Introductions Please tell us • Your name • Your title/role in project

  4. Meeting Goals • Update and discussion on the final months of the grant • Review key assessments and accompanying rubrics

  5. Reports and Invoices • Mid-year reports were due on January 31. • USED onsite visit to MSDE is February 24 - 28. • Final reports are due on July 31. All grant activities must be concluded by June 30. • Invoices—please include documentation!!

  6. Project Evaluation • Is the description still accurate? • How has ongoing evaluation informed your program? • How will information be used in the future?

  7. Elementary STEM Program Submission PLEASE SEND US SYLLABI, ASSESSMENTS, RUBRICS, ETC. BEFORE YOU SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL!!

  8. Pathway for teacher candidates Certification in Elementary Education—STEM pathway i.e. concentration, minor, subtopic, etc. --MHEC guidelines --MHEC will check with Program Approval to ensure it meets requirements

  9. Pathway for practicing teachers Instructional Leader: STEM (Grades PreK-6) --Regulation approved by PSTEB --State Board passed regulation; public comment for 60 days --Back to PSTEB in May or June; vote to put regulation in COMAR

  14. Key Assessment Review • Are the assessment and rubric aligned to content standards? To STEM Standards of Practice? Are they specific to the indicator level? Is the alignment clear and not forced? • Does the acceptable level of performance define a candidate who you would be comfortable placing in a classroom setting with students? • Is the rubric aligned with the task? Is it reasonable? Are the descriptors in the rubric separate and distinct? • Is the assessment meaningful? Can it assess candidate and program performance? Can it help inform program improvement?
