Conferences • ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) • Offers New Coordinator Conference • AHME (Association for Hospital Medical Education) • Plus available webinars • Check for Specialty Specific Conference (Example: Psychiatry is AADPRT) • Psychiatry has professional development virtual coffee talks.
Take Charge of Your Development • Meet with your supervisor and program director • Use this presentation for available resources
Organize a Training Day • Talk with your supervisor • See about creating your own training day • See what other co-workers in your department feel they are missing
TAGME Certification • Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education • To Apply you need • GME Employed Minimum of 2 Years • Within previous 2 years obtained 15 education credits where focus is on GME or professional growth • Download and complete application • Submit the application, documentation and $315.00 fee. • You do need to do maintance to keep up the certificate.
Continuing Education • Several colleges provide continuing education. • Can be certificates to short courses • Examples: project management, supervision, organization development, management practices
You Tube • Free video sharing website • Create and upload videos to share with others • Search like you would on google • You can subscribe to videos • Example: I searched time mangement on google
Tuition Reimbursement • If you are an employee at the University of Minnesota you can get 100% of tuition cost covered for an undergraduate degree. All other classes are 75% of tuition costs. • See what your organization provides
U of MN Employees – Leadership and Talent Development • A moodle course called Leading at all Levels • Leadership Programming for Individual Contributors • Free but need supervisor or manager permission. Participation involves completing some online activities. • At U of MN have leadership training for supervisors (fee $1000). • At U of MN have supervisor essentials ($1000)
