  2. Introduction • In this lesson, we will discuss the work of spiritual conviction. • Men pleasers present a soothing message of sweetness and light; • however, those who please God preach the Word, reproving, rebuking, and exhorting, with great patience and instruction (2 Tim. 4:1-5).

  3. Defined • What is involved in the sacred duty of spiritual conviction? • The Greek word elegchō, here translated “reprove,” means to bring to light, and thus to expose wrongdoing, to convict or convince, to refute or reprove.

  4. The Work of Spiritual Conviction • God the Father (Jude 14-15; Heb. 12:4-11) • Jesus Christ (John 3:16-21; Rev. 3:15-22) • The Holy Spirit (John 16:7-11; 1 Cor. 14:20-25; James 2:8-13)

  6. Conclusion • Jesus, the sinless Savior, stands in judgment over lost humanity. If we continue in His word, we shall be saved from our sins; if we resist and rebel, we remain lost (John 8:31-59). • What choice will we make, you and I? What will our answer be?
