Addressing work-life management, health, and social risks, this project aims to promote social dialogue in the finance sector. By incentivizing the social dialogue at the company and European levels, the focus is on professionals and managers to ensure a better work-life balance, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. The project emphasizes the importance of achieving a quality work environment and welfare for all workers while tackling gender equality issues and promoting a healthier work culture. Join us for an enlightening presentation in Athens on January 30, 2017, where Project Manager Pier Luigi Ledda will discuss the objectives, activities, and outcomes of this EU-supported initiative. Be part of this transformative journey towards a more balanced and harmonious work-life integration in the financial industry.

Index Premise Two major issues Work Life Management Health and safety and psycho-social risks Social Dialogue Project objectives Partnership Duration of the project Activities Steps Kick off Administrative rules - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
1- Premise The right balance between work and personal / family life is the basis of civil society as a whole and not only of the sphere on the job. Today, the work, thanks to the spread of new technologies, has invaded the privacy of people risking their family and social balances. In today's Europe, where, because of the crisis the economic policies are guided by the "spending review", the increase in employment levels is the priority. The challenge that the social partners have to face is to achieve the goal of growing into a quality work environment and welfare of workers. On this basis, there are two major issues related to the balance between family life and professional life: - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
2- Two major issues The rebalancing of responsibilities within familiesable to promote the development of female participation in the labor market, both from a quantitative and qualitative point of view.According to the latest estimates by Eurofound (2015), the employment gender gap coast 325.000.000.000 € a year to the EU (2.5% of EU GDP), with an individual cost of exclusion throughout their working life women, estimated at over 1 million euro. The protection of the safety and health of workers against psychosocial risks and stress at work.In the recent EU-funded project made by Matrix (2013) for the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work EU-OSHA, the cost to Europe of the work-related depression was estimated at € 617.000.000.000 per year. This total is made up of costs for employers arising from absenteeism and presentism (272 billion euro), from lost productivity (242 billion euro), the health care costs (63 billion euro) and social care costs represented from payments for disability benefits (39 billion euro). - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
3- Work Life Management Regarding the first point, we must overcome the old use of the word "conciliation" that particularly affects (though not exclusively) women, and adopt the term "work-life management" that increases the audience of stakeholders by involving both sexes, young and adults by expanding the object of interest only by family obligations to the free time in general, including also the educational and training activities. Line of work and private life are increasingly "confused" and the expression of "work-life management" explains better the search for balance between paid work and private lives. This type of balance concerns and involves more fields: political, social, organizational and business, and also familiar. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
3 - Work Life Management Talk about WLM, it is also to speak of family life and work life balance through a more equitable distribution of responsibility for parental care between men and women, which would further strengthen gender equality in the labor market. In Europe, women, despite higher qualification in terms of levels of education than men (42.3% of women between 30 and 34 with a university degree or specialist degree against 33.6% of men) continue under-represented in the labor market (75% the employment rate of men against 63.5% of women). It's also been shown that the presence of children negatively plays the female employment rate and the use of part-time is more used by women than men (32.9% of women compared with 9.9% of men). Even the care of children with disabilities and / or elderly relatives weighs more on women. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
4- Health and safety The second macro theme in which we have conceptually divided the problems related to the balance of life and work is, as anticipated, the work rate and the invasiveness of new technologies which increasingly take up more space in the private lives of workers.Technological progress, characterized by increasing digitization, is fueling a work culture '24 hours 24 'and can lead to a blurring of boundaries between work and private life. The health and safety of workers in Europe are today threatened primarily by psychosocial risks and stress at work. Among the psychosocial risks faced by the majority of European workers, in addition to stress, we find anxiety to achieve the objectives and exhaustion (burnout) caused by overwork. These phenomena are particularly present in the banking sector where workers are under pressure due to the stresses to the sale of financial products to customers. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
4- Health and safety The timing of the checks on the assigned budget is ever closer and we went from checks on a quarterly basis to daily inspections, in some cases even several times in the same working day.The 2014 Eurobarometer survey on working conditions in the EU Member States shows that excessively long working hours, workers are justified by the fact of being insoddisfatio of their work (48%), while exposure to stress is identified as one of the main risks to health and safety in the workplace by the workers themselves (53%).Stress, depression or anxiety were the most cited work-related health problems in most EU Member States. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Project objectives The project focuses on the topic of Work Life Management in the wider context of corporate social responsibility and social dialogue in the banking sector. Our action is therefore directed to research and study on two central issues related to Work Life Management by identifying and analyzing good practices.Since our project is primarily a training objective, all our activities are directed to the formation of trade union organizations of the participating countries. The primary objective is to build a network of trade unionists prepared in terms of knowledge and sensitivity to the Work Life Management problems. This network, with training tools that the project will provide, will be able to deal with new working methods, negotiating challenges by putting in place during the negotiations at the enterprise / national level what they have learned, and will be able to contribute effectively to social dialogue Europe, through the involvement of the European federations. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Project objectives Two main areas of research: 1) the rebalancing of responsibilities within families can encourage the growth of female participation in the labor market, both from a quantitative point of view and from that of quality; 2) the protection of the safety and health of workers against psychosocial risks and stress at work. The methodology used is innovative because it is based on a process of self-education of the participants who lavoreranni together, guided by process supervisors who will stimulate discussion on various topics, going to the next step only after finding a common synthesis.Particular attention will be paid to the cadre category, which has now reached almost 50% of employment in the European banking sector, which is particularly concerned about psychosocial risks and stress related to work. For this reason, the project can count on a real involvement of UNI Europa and, in particular, of its P & M and EUROCADRES service. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Project objectives The project stands five specific objectives: 1) Develop and disseminate a contractual methodology that takes into account the employees' work-life management in order to contribute positively to the creation of shareholder value and at the same time that optimizes the business climate through a particular attention paid to:- Safety and health at work;- Equal opportunities and professional growth and career development. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Project objectives 2) enrich or create trade union skills, with the aim of contributing to the social dialogue in the industry at national / company and European level, with reference to:- The revision of the joint declaration of the social partners in 2005, represented by 'European framework agreement concluded by the social partners 31 January 31, 2014;- European Directive n. 2010/18 / EU;- The "Road Map" of the European Commission, which launched the initiative: "A new beginning to withstand the challenges of work / life balance faced by working families" for the revision of the Directive on maternity leave;- The wider use of the principle of subsidiarity in art. 153 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (the 'TFEU'): it enables the Union to support and supplement the actions of Member States, inter alia, in the field of equality between men and women as regards opportunities in the labor market and treatment at work; - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Project objectives 3) help to spread and strengthen the principles of the European social dialogue in the new Member States (Romania and Bulgaria) and candidate countries (Turkey); 4) compare different cultures, experiences and best practices of the European partners involved in the project, coming from different geographical, economic, social and cultural rights;5) provide training on balance life - work aimed at the development of knowledge and the promotion of a change that is tangible in everyday behavior. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Partnership In the project, to achieve the goals we have a strong and significant transnational partnership 8 European countries (as well as in Italy): 2 - Nordic countries with a "historical" sensitivity to themes of WLM (England, Finland); 3 - Western European countries with a more "traditional culture" (Spain, France, Greece); 2 - countries of the "new" Europe with less experience in the field of negotiation of labor rights (Bulgaria, Romania) 1 - candidate country: Turkey. Furthermore: • UNI Europa, social part recognized, and its Department UNI Europa P & M, • EUROCADRES, social part recognized,, • FEDERMANAGEMENT, national association of business leaders. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
Social Dialogue The social dialogue in the financial sector is strengthening and the proof is the will of the European social partners to give greater effect to the 2005 Joint Declaration on Social Responsibility, reviewing some parts and focusing on certain aspects of employment. The goal of our project is to enhance and / or establish trade skills exchanges, thus further contribute to the social dialogue at company, national and European. The presence in the project with a real participation of two counterparts of the European social dialogue, corroborates the foregoing:UNI Europa (signatory of the Joint Declaration mentioned) and EUROCADRES (the subject of the European social dialogue for P & Ms categories). There is also Federmanagement who is an actor of national social dialogue in Italy. - VS/2016/0394 - Atene– PLL
