ADSC Q4 Detector ACA Etter Prize for X-ray optics innovations Sterling Cornaby (CHESS/Cornell, NY),DMR-0225180 Broader Impacts:Sterling Cornaby was awarded the Margaret C. Etter Student Lecturer Award 2008 given by the American Crystallographic Association during their 2008 annual meeting held in Knoxville, Tennessee. Cornaby spoke on “Recording Data from Multiple Protein Microcrystals Using Laue Diffraction,” a study using glass capillary optics that he fabricated at CHESS to focus the synchrotron x-ray beam down to below 10 microns in size. The award honors the memory of Professor Margaret C. Etter (1943-1992), who was a major contributor to the field of organic solid-state chemistry.
