MISSION STATEMENT The Mission of the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation is to improve the administration of justice and the delivery of legal services, to cultivate understanding of and respect for the rule of law, and to render assistance to the poor, the neglected, and the discriminated against. FOUNDATION HISTORY 1963 - The Los Angeles County Bar Foundation (“Foundation”) was organized (in its present form) as the outgrowth of the charitable entities sponsored by the then Los Angeles Bar Association. Articles of Incorporation was filed on March 1, 1963 with the Secretary of State. 1967 - New Articles of Incorporation were re-filed on September 28, 1967 (apparently for tax reasons) 1969 - The first general grant was authorized on February 21st in the amount of $1,417.50 for the purchase of six prints of the film, The Bill of Rights in Action: Freedom of Speech, which were given to the Audio-Visual Department of the Los Angeles City Schools. During a period of six months, there were 245 separate showings of the film to a total of 19,870 students. Los Angeles County Bar Foundation (LACBF)

FOUNDATION HISTORY 2008 - At the end of the June 30th fiscal year, the Foundation reported the following in its annual audit: $191,223 in Undesignated funds; $179,223 in Quasi-Endowment Funds; $102,412 in Temporarily Restricted Funds; and $920,335 in Permanently Restricted Funds for a total of $1,393,012 in net assets. 2009 - The Foundation sets a new course of management and begins its search for its first Executive Director. On July 1, 2009, Ivan Price began his service in that position. On December 31, 2009, Linda Stude retired after 22 ½ years serving the Foundation. Linda was the only staff person working at the Foundation for those years. 2010 – and now you are on the Board . . . . . CONGRATULATIONS! Los Angeles County Bar Foundation (LACBF)

What we do: Annual Fundraising Campaign – October 15th -April 30th Conduct Fundraising Special Events 4th Annual Theatre Production – March 13th 2nd Annual Golf Outing at TPC-Valencia – June 13th Possibly a Raffle during the year Next October 2011 – possible Casino Night or Texas Hold‘Em Poker Tournament Manage Endowment Port Folio of approximately $1.2 million (Fidelity) Allocation of Grants to 20-25 nonprofits – process begins March 10thand concludes about April 20th Continue encouraging everyone to join in the Ralphs Community Contribution Program – LACBF is sent checks quarterly. Art for Sale from two noted LA contemporary artists: Billy Al Bengston and Peter Alexander. Prints are $600 and $1,000 respectfully. Provide Marketing & Communication products, such as: the Foundation’s Annual Brochure; Website – www.lacbf.org; quarterly E-newsletter; and special program flyers Los Angeles County Bar Foundation (LACBF)
