Communication MajorBecause communication is a vital social phenomenon, the mission of the communication program at the University of Connecticut is to study and teach about communication with areas of specialization including interpersonal, persuasion, communication technology, nonverbal and media effects.It is our goal to pursue theoretically grounded research and to disseminate knowledge by publishing our research and by teaching.

Successful Communication Majors • Take responsibility for their own progress • Keep track of paperwork and deadlines • Use PeopleSoft Degree progress • Know what is expected of them. • Know where to go for different types of help. • Plan ahead when requesting help • Know when deadlines are coming • Schedule meetings in advance • Do not give away your only copy of ANYTHING. • Keep good records.
