They’re one of the few poisonous snakes with short fangs. Live in wooded areas, swamps, and scrub areas. They also slither onto residential areas. Coral snakes
They live in wooded and rocky areas, and mountain regions. Average 60 cm to a maximum of 160 cm. Copperlike color which helps them blend into their surroundings. Diamond like head, and slits for eyes. Copperhead snakes
Signs and symptoms Copperheads: • Pain at site of bite • Breathing difficulty • Low blood pressure • Nausea and vomiting • Numbness/tingling • Skin color changes • Swelling • Thirst • Tiredness • Weakness and weak pulse Coral: • May be painless at first • Blurred vision • Breathing difficulty • Drowsiness • Low blood pressure • Mouth watering • Nausea and vomiting • Numbness/tingling • Slurred speech • Swelling of tongue/throat • Weakness • Skin color changes • Stomach/abdominal pain • Weak pulse
treatment • Stay calm • Use a pump suction device if you have one. • Remove anything blocking the bite. • Make a loose splint to restrict movement • Amount of anti-venom you need depends on your height, weight, and the damage that’s already been done.

Be very cautious around snake-infested areas Don’t mess with them, and they wont mess with you. When you come in contact with snake, don’t make any sudden movements. If you hike often, consider a snake bite kit. Prevention
