Water Sterilization Group Members: Chris Robertson Courtney Green Jacob Frye Scott Shields
Goals • Design, Manufacture, and Dye test a working fluid chamber that fulfills the following constraints: • DC Power Source with 10 kV • 1 Pulse per a second • Highly conductive material for the discharging plates • Ability to sterilize a cup of water in a reasonable time • Peristaltic pump to create the volumetric flow rate • Calculate and document achievable flow rates Completed
Test Stand with chamber design #1 Designed to contain all E-coli contaminated lost liquid Angle design to dislodge any trapped air from the electrode plates
Extra Circular Activities • Test the fluid chamber with E-coli • Culture the E-coli • Determine the kill rate and Effectiveness of the designs • Try different Voltage and Flow rates In Process
Extra Circular Activities • Design the Power Source Test Methods/Parameters • Calculate the impendence of the chamber • Determine the desired pulse rate • Determine the desired pulse duration • Work with Dr. Chen developing and testing the system • Status and Design meeting with Dr. Chen this Friday In Process
