  3. Short Term Recommendations Parking/Way Finding Signage: Tourism Package to include Parking Opportunities on various websites, i.e. Whitewater Uptown, Inc. Convention & Visitors Bureau Columbus Consolidated Gov’t. Parks and Recreation Directional Location Map – Free APP Way Finding Signage at all EXIT locations at each of the three public parking decks: RiverCenter Deck on Broadway Front Avenue Deck on Front Ave. Bay Avenue Deck on Front Ave.

  5. Recommendations, Cont’d Motorcycle/Bicycle Parking: Create 10 Motorcycle/Bicycle Parking spaces per block along Broadway. ADA Van accessible islands are not eligible for Motorcycle/Bicycle Parking.

  8. Recommendations Cont’d Uptown Residential Parking: Parking decals will be made available to residents living in Uptown There will be an annual cost of $25/sticker provided per resident. Maximum of 2 stickers. Stickers are good for parking within 2 blocks of residence (excluding Broadway) and FREE for use in RiverCenter Parking Deck (excluding event parking); Parking Limits: Monday-Friday; 8am-6pm Stickers are for timed parking areas only and not applicable to Handicap & Loading Zones.

Recommendations Cont’d Parking Enforcement: Increase Overtime Parking Tickets: From $20 to $35 ($15 increase) We will work with Uptown Inc., and Business Owners to encourage their employees to utilize the parking decks to save prime parking for customers Will increase Parking Enforcement Efforts
  11. Recommendations Cont’d Parking Management Districts: Parking Management Districts will go away. Streets within Uptown will be enforced and treated the same as it relates to timed parkingrequirements. The Parking Management Districts include Front Ave east to 1st Ave & from 9th St north to 14th St.
  12. Recommendations Cont’d Front Avenue On Street Parking: Currently 8 hour parking Each Parking Garage fronts Front Ave.-provides no incentive to use parking decks Will create 4 hour parking along the east & west curbs of Front Ave. from 9th St to 13th St.
  13. Recommendations Cont’d Parking Ordinance House Keeping: The parking ordinances within Uptown need to be updated to accommodate the CBD Streetscape Improvements along Front Ave & Broadway to include the cross streets from 9th St to 14th St. Traffic Engineering Division will handle updates
  14. Recommendations Cont’d Valet Parking Opportunities: The City will make the RiverCenter Parking Deck available for Valet Parking if Uptown Business’ or Uptown Columbus, Inc. want to contract with a private Valet Service. The City will negotiate the use of the 5th Floor of the RiverCenter Parking Deckfor this service The City currently utilizes a parking service for event parking in the RiverCenter Parking Deck. Cost of service will be the responsibility of the user or merchants that may want to contract this service.
  15. Recommendations Cont’d Special Events in UpTown: The City will work with Uptown Columbus, Inc. on special event parking in the RiverCenter Parking Deck to include, but not limited to: Vendor Parking for Market Days 5K Runs Bicycles on Broadway, etc.
  16. Recommendations Cont’d RiverCenter Parking Deck: Event Parking – Increase from $2 to $5 (consistent with Civic Center event parking) Free Parking on weekends and nights – no change.Daily Parking fee will remain $2. No change. Monthly Rental to remain at $25/Month. No change. Enhance lighting capacity throughout deck to increase safety perception. Consider foot traffic security pedestals within the deck Work with officials (Uptown Columbus, Inc.; CSU, CPD, MCSO, and Marshal) to have Law Enforcement and the Purple People to have a stronger presence in the Parking Decks.
