Parts, Materials, and Processes • Materials • All Materials have been approved by the Program MPRB in accordance with LAT-SS-00107, LAT Mechanical Parts Plan • GLAST/LAT Material Usage Agreement #002 (MAR DID No. 313; LAT Document # LAT-TD-04756-01)- Approved 9/13/04 • Processes • All processes have been reviewed and approved by the Program MPRB in accordance with LAT-SS-00107, LAT Mechanical Parts Plan
Procurement Status • Assembly Subcontractor • Aeroflex, Inc., Colorado Springs, Colorado was awarded the contract to provide the assembly service and CCA level thermal cycling for the PDU and GASU (Reference LAT-PS-04171, SOW LAT PDU and LAT-PS-03081, SOW LAT GASU) • EEE Parts • All EEE parts are SLAC furnished and have been procured for the PDU and GASU • Outstanding receipt of Omnirel Regulator expected 2/25/05 • Part no. OMR9604SCK • Miscellaneous Subassemblies • Internal harness and cable assemblies due ~ 3/14/05 • Metal Fab Parts and Fasteners • All Metal Fab parts and Fasteners are SLAC furnished and have been procured and received for the PDU and GASU • PWBs • The PWBs for PDU and GASU are SLAC furnished and have been procured and received. Coupons for boards being used for flight have all successfully passed testing.
Procurement Status • FPGA Programming • Programming of the FPGAs has been contracted to ACTEL and is complete for 1 box each PDU and GASU. Remaining parts will be programmed after some level of confidence testing of the first article CCAs. • Materials • Assembly shop floor materials are furnished by Aeroflex in accordance with drawing and SOW requirements (adhesives, conformal coating, wire, primer, etc.)
Manufacturing Facilites • Assembly contract has been awarded to Aeroflex, Inc., located in Colorado Springs, Colorado • Aeroflex specializes in the Manufacturing of Micro Electronic and Circuit Card assemblies. Aeroflex fabricates assemblies for aerospace, defense and commercial applications. They are an ISO 9001 (DSCC) certified company, founded in 1990 which merged with UTMC in 1996 • A Quality Survey and Process Review was was conducted by SLAC and NASA Product Assurance on January 26, 2005 • Certifications / Qualifications: • - ASQ Rocky Mountain Quality award • - ISO 9001:2000 certified by the Defense Supply Center, Columbia • Aeroflex performs to the intent of the following documents, assuring Quality and Workmanship Acceptability: • MIL-STD-2000A • IPC-A-610 CLASS 3 • MIL-PRF-38535 • IPC/EIA J-STD-001C • NASA 8739 series • NHB 5300 • MIL-STD-1686 • MIL-HDBK-263 • EIA-625 • ANSI/ESD S20.20-1999
Manufacturing Process Flow-Aeroflex • A flow similar to PDU for GASU is under construction • All routers will be reviewed and approved by SLAC prior to production start
Configuration Management • Required changes to documentation during the manufacturing phase at Aeroflex will be immediately documented on an NCMR and forwarded to SLAC for disposition • All outstanding changes to documents will be incorporated and a new revision released into LAT DOCs prior to final inspection at each manufacturing level (CCA, Module)
