IBO FILM: AIMS • Creative & critical independence in knowledge, experience & enjoyment of film. • appreciation & understanding of film as a complex & unique art form • ability to formulate stories & ideas in filmic terms • practical & technical skills of production • critical evaluation of film productions by students & others • knowledge of film-making traditions in more than one culture
IBO FILM: OBJECTIVES • understanding of the variety of ways film creates meaning • originality & creativity in developing an idea through various stages from conception to finished production • technical skills & appropriate use of available technology • ability to draw together knowledge,skills, research & experience, & apply them analytically to evaluate film texts • critical understanding of historical, sociocultural, economic & institutional contexts of film in more than one culture
