    14. How My Town C.A.N. Has Worked In Other Communities *All outcomes reported are from towns with a population of less than 3000 inhabitants. MainSTREET programs were initiated and a coordinator was hired. Neighborhood Preservation program was implemented (15 homeowner and 15 rental units were rehabilitated) Watershed, park and community clean-ups were initiated and coordinated. Façade improvements and sign grant programs were developed and coordinated. Pocket parks and green spaces were created where there were once blighted homes. GoodSTART community planning models were implemented, as were business and housing needs assessments. Housing and business inventories were completed. Volunteer activities were coordinated and tracked. Leadership development and volunteer recruitment programs were initiated.

    15. My Town C.A.N.Outcomes Community produced a promotional brochure. Supported and expanded existing festivals and activities. Achieved nearly 100% capacity in downtown storefronts with retail and service businesses. Created opportunties to expand businesses from outside the area through networking and partnerships. Added streetscape improvements (benches, trash receptacles, signs, banners, etc.) Completed park expansion programs, built a gazebo, public restrooms, outdoor skate park/ice rink, completed bike and walking trails. Referred over 160 people annually to additional human service programs (child care, senior services, food and commodities, job assistance, housing assistance, etc.) Saw total measurable economic impact of over 8.5 million dollars in only three years.
