2. Project Motivation • Industrial design student James Paulius • Incorporating cycling and public transportation • Need: To have additional accommodations for cyclists to store their bicycles while riding on public transportation buses

3. Project Description • Design and implement a bicycle rack that can be mounted to the currently unused space on the rear of a commuter bus • This rack can supplement the current rack mounted on the front of a bus • This rack can be retrofitted onto currently running buses

DC gearmotor • Arm stress • The stresses seen by the arm cannot exceed the arm material’s yield strength • Suitable material • McMaster P/N 8457k27 • 0.5” OD stainless steel tube
