About APSA • Founded 5 yrs ago by American businessmen. • Funded by private donors & the State Department. • Offers a full scholarship for a six-weeks study abroad experience in Beijing, China. • Open to public high school students from: • Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Houston, New York City, Rochester, NY, and Washington, DC. • Competitive admission by application & interview.
Language Classes • Chinese class from 8:00 to 12:00. • Three different levels of classes: • beginner, intermediate, and advance • lessons on: • business • money exchange • shops • Directions • Class instruction in Mandarin.
Language Excursions • Test & build-up our language skill in real life. • Travel in small language group for maximum benefits. • Receive assistance from language mentors.

Young Professional Panels Talk to young foreigners about what working and living in China is like.
Benefits of studying abroad -Increases self-confidence, maturity, and independence. -Exposes students to a new culture and has a lasting impact in their world view. -Immerses student in a foreign language, dramatically increasing foreign language fluency if he/she is a student. -Gives students a competitive advantage in college admissions and in future careers.
China Tomorrow Project -Helps APSA scholars share their experience with their home community -APSA scholars seek to engage others with their new knowledge of China. -City groups implement China Project plan that was developed while in China. • Gives scholars experience in creating, organizing, and executing an event. • Exposes others to the APSA program, China, and study abroad.

China Tomorrow Project EXECUTED EVENT Event: APSA Presentation Location: Court Street (BPS Headquarters) Date: Friday, September 23rd, 2011 4-6 PM Details: All 5 APSA members will present about the APSA China Scholars program and our experiences this summer as Scholars. The presentation is open to the general public. At the presentation, we will also share information on our upcoming fundraiser for the Dandelion School.
