  3. Basic fact:Nyamata Telecentre • Established in 2004 with the support of USAID • Located in semi-urban area • Run on Entrepreneurial basis. • Proving diversified services,ICT as the core business • Employing 15 staff

  4. Capacity building as a challenge to Development of Telecentres in Rwanda and NyamataTelecentre in particular • Lack of strong educational background for Telecentre operator is affecting Telecentres managers in their daily duties(University level) • Growing competition in ICT business is challenging Telecentre managers to be good at what they do. • Lack of strategic thinking(strategic management) is affecting long term sustainability of Telecentres

  5. Capacity building as a challenge to Development of Telecentre in Rwanda and NyamataTelecentre in particular • Lack of Technical skills in ICT is increasing the cost of running Telecentre(Maintenance of PCs) • Lack of Managerial skills such as Financial management,Marketing… is Killing daily performance of Telecentre • Lack of Entreprenual spirit and skills is affecting financial sustainability of Telecentre

  6. Way forward; What to do… • University level not a prerequisite to TC managers, but strong managerial and technical skills are MUST for successful running a TC
