Each student takes 2 courses CISC 367 070 High Performance Computing how to effectively use clusters, MPI programming, performance issues and performance tuning CISC 367 071 Tools for the Software Cycle integrated development environments, version control, software testing, performance profiling, debugging tools – goals, use in practice, technology behind the scenes Honors credit available / Minimal programming

Tentative Weekly Schedule First 2 weeks: Mondays: 1 ½ hour each class; 3 hours lab Tuesdays: Guest speaker, Talk to scientists; 2 hour lab time Wednesdays: 2 hours each class; lab time Thursdays/Fridays: excursions Saturdays/Sundays: local outings
