  2. INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY INTO THE CLASSROOM Students shall apply knowledge of Standard English conventions in written work with the assistance of modern technology.

  3. The Integration Process • New views of language and literacy acquisition are prompting many schools to move toward and integration of the language arts, and so too must we, if we are to prepare our students for the classrooms they will inhabit.

  4. COMPUTERS • Computers have the ability to offer activities supporting children in every stage of their development. • Throughout much of the world computers are now an accepted part of classroom culture. • Computers are not just for children to learn from, they are also for children to learn with.

  5. DIFFERENT LEARNING TECHNIQUES • Children learn in group settings with their peers. • Children learn by hands on application. • Children learn with the assistance of an instructor/teacher.

  6. EVERYONE HAS A ROLE • Educators- must rethink their existing educational patterns. • Students- must be able to accept change, adapt to it and thrive from it. • There must also be a shift in the way standards are produced, and this must be done with the incorporation of modern technology.

  7. ACTIVITIES • Computer games could be used to stimulate every aspect of student’s learning and development pertaining to written work. • A game on the computer that has a paragraph with no punctuation. • The student would have to fill in periods, commas, and apostrophes. • The game will advance levels after each lesson is completed. • The computer will keep a record of scored points.
