Three Major Drivers… 1) Construction: Half of all tonnes lifted in Northern Ireland and two thirds of all tonnes lifted in Ireland are construction material. Infrastructure spend and housing demand will support growth. 2)Economic Growth: With the slowdown most forecasts see no return to growth before the middle of 2010. 3) Population: Official projections indicate a 26% growth in Ireland to 2020 and 10% in Northern Ireland. This would result in 7.2 million people on the island by 2020.
