  4. Kitchen Contract • Must be returned with parent signature BEFORE you can participate in labs • DUE: Next Wednesday!! • We will be cooking that day!! • NO Signed Contract = NO Participation in Lab

  5. You will learn about… • Kitchen Safety & Sanitation • Cooking Skills • Fruits • Meats • Cakes • Seafood • Special Diets

  6. 5 General Rules • Be Respectful • Be Responsible • Maintain Attendance • Follow School Rules • Do your Best!

  7. Be Respectful of Others

  8. No Inappropriate Speech • Swearing • Name calling • Drugs • Use appropriate tones • Don’t talk when I’m talking!!

  9. Don’t Distract Others • No IPOD’s or cell phones during class • Wait until it is your turn to talk • Raise your hand • No outside food or drink you may bring water bottles

  10. Be Respectful of the Room

  11. Be Respectful of Room!! • Clean up your work area • Don’t write on desks • Throw garbage in garbage can- don’t throw food down the drain in your sink!!

  12. NO Primping • NO Makeup • NO Mirrors • NO Hairbrushes • NO Combs • No one wants to eat hair!

  13. Be Responsible! • All assignments must be handed in on time to receive credit • Do your own work • You are responsible for missed work when absent. Missed labs must be made up!

  14. Come to Class • Students that miss more than 7 days of class may be dropped • Come on time, I will mark you tardy • When you miss class, you miss the fun, and you have to make up labs!

  15. Follow School Rules • Dress Code • No Food or Drink • No coats • I-Pods • Cell Phones

  16. Do Your Best • Come prepared to work! • No sleeping!!! • Bring your notebook, binder, and homework • Only Foods class work is done in the Foods classroom

  17. Lab Groups • Cooperation • Everyone must pitch in and share tasks. Chef duties are assigned and rotated each lab. • Support one another • Be kind and respectful

  18. Lab Groups… • There will be 3- 4 in each group. • I assign your teams. You will get to pick your groups down the line if you’ve shown me trust. • Each member is expected to do their share. • Have fun!!!

  19. Safety & Sanitation • Be safe in lab • Memorize lab procedure • Good personal hygiene

  20. Missed Labs • Must make it up at home for credit • Lab Make Up Forms • Sample of Product • Parent Signature
