Completing conversion of DICOM to DocBook, fixing errors, creating portable build environment, and utilizing Ant scripts for processing. Latest work involves converting Word to DocBook, editing XML sources, and upcoming tasks include graphics file conversion and schema enhancements.

Completed Work • Starting from earlier test conversion of Parts • Fixed errors in conversion • Changed environment specific path names to relative ones • Added missing tables • Portable build environment created • Ant scripts used to facilitate processing in various operating environments • Includes entire processing pipeline (DICOM → DocBook → Output in various formats, including cross reference links) • Build process to output proven in multiple operating environments • Prototype the use of Subversion data repository for source control
Current Work • Completed • Initial rough conversion from Word to DocBook for all remaining Parts • Editing XML source of converted parts for errors • Updating existing XML source for Parts 3, 6, 12, and 16 to latest version 2005 • Checking updated parts for accuracy
Upcoming Work • Necessary for publication • Conversion from WMF drawings to portable graphics files (SVG) • Comparison against the original word documents to insure correctness • Suggested additions • DICOM specific schema for Part 4 tables • Greater cross-referencing between parts
