Independent Reading • Each student is responsible for having their own reading book at their independent reading level • Focus on finishing the book within two weeks • Nightly Reading Homework • Mon-Thurs + one weekend day • August-December 15 pages/night • January-June 20 pages/night • Take AR quizzes after finishing book and aim for 80% or higher • www.arbookfind.com
3 Point Response • Write a complete sentence with a capital letter and a period. • Use words from the question in your answer. • Include evidence to support your answer. Example Question: What is your favorite color? Response: My favorite color is yellow because it is bright and cheerful.
Making Every Minute Count • If you need to take your child out of school for an appointment, please make every effort to do so at the end of the day. • It is very helpful if you let me know if your child will be absent or leaving early so I may prepare work for them. • Students are responsible for missing work while they are absent
