shénme 1、什么What Usage:“什么(shénme)” is used to indicateinterrogation , like “what”. e.g. Nǐ jiào shénme míngzi? 你叫什么名字? What is your name?

TIPS A typical Chinese name has two parts: surname + given name. Surname is put before the given name. e.g.王兰(WángLán) ,王(wáng)is the surname,兰(lán)is the given name. When you introduce yourself, you can just say your surname or full name. e.g. “我叫王兰(WǒjiàoWángLán)”;“ 我姓王(WǒxìngWáng)”。 When the question is“你叫什么名字?(Nǐjiàoshénmemíngzi?)”,your full name will be the answer. When the question is “你姓什么?(Nǐxìngshénme?)”or“您贵姓(Nínguìxìng?)”,you should say your surname. The end
