Central field-epidemiologic group (CFG; Sweden) • Established in early 2000’s • To strengthen preparedness for national and international outbreaks • Consists of healthcare personnel, vets, epidemiologists • ”Reserve force” - Trains regularly • Participates in international missions • Supports local PH authorities in outbreaks

Epidemic Intelligence in the ECDC EOC Main activities: • Collecting information • Daily review/verification/discussion of threats • Storage of relevant information + dissemination • Support Outbreak Response activities • Strengthen epidemic intelligence in Member States • Scientific guidance & development of knowledge base • Main outputs: • Daily RT report (ECDC internal distribution) • Weekly risk monitoring bulletins (CDTR) • Threat assessments (when necessary) • Annual report on emerging threats
