Where do lizards live??? • Lizards spend an equal amount of time on land and in water. • They mostly live in warm areas because they are cold blooded and cannot regulate their body temperature.
What do Lizards eat??? • Lizards are omnivores. • That means they eat both plants and animals. • Most lizards eat insects (insectivores.) • Some are vegetarian • Some eat small mammals and fish.
Fun facts!!! • Some lizards can grow up to 10 feet (Komodo Dragon) and others are smaller than your pinky finger. • Some lizards have no legs (glass lizard, worm lizard.) • Some lizards are covered in thorns. • Some lizards don’t lay eggs. The Armadillo Girdle-Tailed lizard does not lay her eggs but carries them full-term inside of her. The Brazilian Skink actually has a placenta like a mammal and her young live off of that while inside of her.
