Project activities at UNSA Info day • Main goals: • To inform all stakeholders about the Project objectives and planned activities • To raise awareness of information literacy and need for organizededucationin this field • To present the plan to incorporate information literacy moduleinto studies at UNSA
Project activities at UNSA Info day • Dissemination of information: • Prepared project promotion material • UNSA newsletter • Media at the info day (quite good response) • Promotion materials and letters to faculties • Promotion material and letters to students’ associations
Project activities at UNSA Survey: IL at the UNSA Faculties; January – March, 2012 • Central question: • Whether and in which subject information literacy is taught or instruction related to information literacy are realised within studying (quoting, ethical use of information, searching the web site, database searching, evaluation of electronic information resources, scientific writing of graduate papers, seminars and similar works, etc).
Project activities at UNSA Survey: IL at the UNSA Faculties • Responses from 24 faculties and academies (out of 26 UNSA members) • Only one faculty had study of information literacy in its curriculum as a separate subject (optional, undergraduate study programme) • Remaining: • Within the subject: Methodology of scientific reserach (f = 11) • Within the subject: Informatics (f = 7) • Joined to other subjects of study programmes (f = 5)
