  3. We are part of the National Honor Society organization based in Washington , DC. There is a national constitution. We must adhere to the regulations listed there. We have a local constitution with local guidelines for this chapter. Connie Hammett - June 2, 2005

  4. Requirements for membership • GPA of 3.85 on the uniform grading scale • At least two honors level or above course per school year • Examples of service to the school and/or community • Examples of leadership within the school and/or community • High level of character • Chosen by the Faculty Council of the school Connie Hammett - June 2, 2005

  5. Note the following important items • Check the spelling of your name on the list • All materials are due on March 26, 2010 at 3:35 p.m. - Not accepted late • Put your complete name on all forms NOW • Signatures required for all forms – Adults sponsors not in your family • Character forms go to three different teachers within the school • Return all materials to Miss Hammett yourself – do not trust someone else to return for you.   6. Induction Ceremony • Everyone must attend – • required by National Constitution • April 26, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. • Candle light formal ceremony • Must dress appropriately • Reception follows in school lobby • Invite parents and friends Connie Hammett - June 2, 2005

MembershipRequirements • Maintain GPA of 3.85 on the uniform grading scale • Take at least two honors or above level course per school year • Attend meetings held in the afternoon and/or morning • Dues are $10.00 payable by November 1 each year • Participate in projects Connie Hammett - June 2, 2005

  8. G H S Projects • Fall -Service hours (2) within the community • Spring - School wide Valentine Post Office • Flowers, songs, and/or candy bags sold to people at school and • then delivered on Valentine Day’s morning. • Spring – Collect and ship books to form a library in Africa Connie Hammett - June 2, 2005

  9. After becoming a member there are All types of National Honor Society Clothing and jewelry available from The national office. The leadership Store has pages of materials available. The school ID is 00007906 The password is 490355 Connie Hammett - June 2, 2005
