1. Fisher’s Philosophers & Stuart’s Safari Classroom News October 15, 2014 What we are learning… Language Arts/Science: We will compare/contrast bats and birds by reading various texts. There will be no test this week, but we will take an in-class grade on Friday. Math: Skill: Time; We will continue to practice elapsed time and solve problems involving time intervals (i.e. Briseida reads for 25 min., works on her math sheet for 10 min., and studies math facts for 5 min. How long does she work on her homework?). See Mrs. Fisher’s website for extra help if needed. Quiz Friday Everyday Counts: Attend Today-Achieve tomorrow! Try to be here everyday and to schedule appointments outside of school time. Announcements *AR Update-The 2nd 9 weeks has started, so new personal goals are set. The Superstar goal is 20 points this quarter. Any student who earns at least 20 points with 85% correct will earn an invitation to our December Superstar Party where we will make gingerbread houses! Remember that every student is required to pass at least 3 quizzes per week. To meet the AR Superstar goal, students should aim to pass 5 quizzes or earn 2.3 points per week.
