How to ID teeth How would we be able to successfully ID someone based on their teeth? What would we need in order to successfully ID someone based on their teeth?
Identification per Teeth Need to obtain a copy of dental records Have the dentist create a odontogram (which is what?) The dentist would chart five surfaces of each tooth in a grid. Can also provide bite mark evidence. Teeth often times useful in determining the age of the deceased individual.
Serology • Blood Types • A • B • O • AB • RH factor (+ or -) • Female blood cells have Barr Body.
Criminology • Kastle-Meyer Test • Used to determine if the substance is indeed blood • Precipitin Test • Determines if the blood is human or animal
What can be determined by blood? • Blood Type • Gender Checking the sex chromosomes • XX woman • XY Man
