Primates have hands that can grasp things. Primates have large brains. Primates can see color and they have a good ability to judge distances. Primates usually live in groups. Primates include monkeys, apes, man, and prosimians. menu Primates Exit
Cats are carnivores, or meat eaters. Cats have padded feet with retracting claws. Cats can be big or small, wild or domestic. Cats are graceful. Cats include lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, and house cats. menu Exit Cats
Rodents are the largest group of mammals (there are about 1800 kinds!). Rodents have two pairs of sharp front teeth which they use to gnaw seeds. Rodents have cheek pouches to store food. Rodents include squirrels, beavers, mice, rats, and porcupines. menu Rodents Exit
Dogs are carnivores, or meat eaters. Wolves, and some other wild dogs, live and hunt together in packs. There are over 200 breeds of domestic dogs The dog family includes wolves, foxes, jackals, coyotes, and domestic dogs. menu Exit The Dog Family
Whales and dolphins have a streamlined, fish-like shape. They have very little hair, but a layer of blubber helps to keep them warm. They live in the water, but must come up for air. Some whales have teeth, others don’t. Exit menu Whales and Dolphins
