  2. Aim • The focus the effectiveness (or not) of using Power Point in an accounting classroom in the a Japanese university

  3. Question • to whether information technology, as used in the accounting classroom, is an effective tool for enhancing students’ learning in the a Japanese university • PowerPoint presentations in the accounting classroom will improve academic results.

  4. hypothesis • Students’ preferences with regard to PowerPoint have no significant effect on their academic performance

  6. Data collection • was collected from a questionnaire administered to 189 undergraduate students The effective sample was 132 students • Group: Students were taught all lectures using PowerPoint • To conclude our study, we conducted a regression analysis , t-test and ANOVA test

  7. Data collection • several other independent factors which could influence the dependent variable of final examination score. 1. Students attendance rate (ATEND); 2. Gender (GEN); 3. Aptitude 4. Students’ preferences for accounting (ACPR).

  8. Conclusion • In that students’ attitudes and PowerPoint usage is not necessarily reflected in academic performance.
