Pea Ridge Intermediate School Library Mission of the PRISL: “…to provide activities that will create interest in listening to and reading literature, integrate library and research skills in all curricular areas, and provide assistance to teachers and staff…” and to stimulate questioning and inquiry, teach literacy skills dealing with information, and assist students in handling information problem solving tasks (“Library Curriculum,” n.d.para. 1).

Diversity According to Mrs. Brock (2011), diversity is the understanding that individuals are unique. • Suggestion box to gain information about individuals’ interests • Written materials sent home in parents’ home language • ESL teacher on campus for interpreting • Books in Spanish (Brock, D., 2011)
Rogers Historical Museum Mission: “The Rogers Historical Museum serves Rogers and all of Northwest Arkansas, a rapidly growing metropolitan area that shares a rich natural and cultural heritage, a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, and an increasingly diverse population.” It also includes a desire to enrich the lives of its patrons through experience, education, and exploration of the heritage of the people from the surrounding areas (“Mission,” 2006, para. 1).

Diversity in the Rogers Historical Museum Diversity for the RHM: The museum has a vision to be “accessible, inclusive, family-friendly educational institution that promotes life-long earning for people of all ages and walks of life (“Mission,” 2006, para. 6).” How Does the Museum Accommodate for Diversity? • All galleries and buildings are wheelchair accessible • Working on efforts to meet the needs of the local Hispanic population (Sweet, J., 2011).
