Yearbook (25th March) • In addition to the senior page that students have completed families have the option of purchasing an additional one or half page. • ½ page @ 300 RMB • Whole page @ 600 RMB • You design the page and send it to Tamara Palmer either as a jpeg or pdf file. (tamara_palmer@wab.edu)
Letting Go luncheon for parents (20th April) • Support group to help parents with the transition of their children moving on to university and elsewhere. • Counselors will be in attendance. • Coordinated by HS PTA
Last Day for Year 12’s (22nd April) • 2pm Whole School Assembly- Subject Awards. Parents are cordially invited • Grade 12’s exit the assembly via the ramp • Photo taken on the bridge • Ice cream provided by the Alumni group • Hoodies given out by PTA.
IB results service deadline (22nd April) • Students request IB results to be sent to their intended universities. This request is made by the students to WAB who then pass the request on to the IB.
Prom Night (23rd April) • Venue: The Hilton Zeta Bar • Grades 11 and 12 (9s, 10s, and visitors allowed by invitation only) • Theme: Phantom of the Opera • Time 7pm to 11pm • Tickets will be 350 RMB
Grade 12 Breakfast/Class Photo at the Great Wall (25th April) • Breakfast at Obelisco (students only) 7.30- 9 am • Bus to the Great Wall (after breakfast) • Students will get their Graduation jackets on the bus on the way to the Great Wall. Their jackets are then their responsibility. They must be worn at the Confucius Temple.
Study Week (25/04-29/04) • Students are generally not required to attend school during this week, including any Grade 11 classes. • Some teachers may offer non compulsory revision sessions.
IB Exams (3rd May-20th May) • All exams (school and IB) are in the high school gym. • If ill, students must contact Cathy Jones • Absent students must provide a medical certificate • If late, no extra time is given to students • Exam timetable is on Moodle and the parent portal/ calendar • Some students have clashes
Important deadlines from the IB • 6 July – exam results online • 13 July – component grades available from cjones@wab.edu • 29 July – retake exam registration Nov 2011 • 15 September – enquiry upon results deadline • Sept/ Oct – IB Diplomas and Certificates arrive at school
Graduation Rehearsal Monday 23rd May • 1- 5 pm in the Elementary Gym. • All graduating students are required to attend. • Graduation jackets are not required.
Grade 12 Trip (24th -27th May) Yangshou • Arrive at WAB 6.45 am Tuesday morning (24th May) • Return to WAB 4.45 pm (Friday 27th May) • Two copies of their passports and two copies of their insurance details are required by March 11th (required for booking) • Students are required to bring their original passport and medical insurance information on the camp • Package went out to students today discussing further requirements
Graduation Ceremony- Confucius Temple(28th May) • 10 am Saturday morning • Students will be required to arrive at 9 am • Numbers are not limited but RSVP to Samantha Polglase required. (samantha_polglase@wab.edu) This will help us to know the approximate numbers
Graduation Dinner- CrownePlaza Sun Palace (28th May) • 7.00 pm arrive (7.30 – 11 pm) • Price- 360 RMB per person. • Graduates are the guests of WAB • Maximum 10 people including graduate (round tables of ten) • RSVP to Samantha Polglase by 6th May (samantha_polglase@wab.edu)
Returning Jackets (30th May -3rd June) • For students to be given their final High School Transcript they must return their graduation jacket cleaned (receipt included) as well as ensure that all their books and other material have been returned to the high school • Receive: • 2 official (sealed) copies of HS Transcript • 1 unofficial (open) copy • Available AFTER 1st JUNE
