When answering EOG questions: • Highlight/Underline/Circle key words in questions and answers • Best, most, except, least • Who’s POV? (Author? Reader? Outsider?) • Differences between answer choices
When answering EOG questions: • Mark out obviously incorrect answers • Have nothing to do with the passage • Show the opposite of what the answer is looking for
When answering EOG questions: • F.U.N. Strategy - Find, Underline, Number • **Proves your answer choice** • Find – go back to the passage and find the sentence that answers your question • Underline – underline the sentence(s) that answer your questions • Number – write the number beside the underlined sentence
What to know about the EOG: • Time • The estimated time allotted for you to finish each EOG is 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) • You can have UP TO 240 minutes (4 hours) • ** It is BETTER to take ALL the time you need than to finish FIRST and have to take the test AGAIN
What to know about the EOG: • Answer EVERY question • You do not lose points for getting a question wrong • You gain points for getting questions right • Always take a guess!
What to know about the EOG: • Difficult questions • Don’t get stuck on hard questions – skip them and come back later • Just make sure to skip that/those number(s) on your answer sheet!
What to know about the EOG: • Misaligned – • if you get off on your answer sheet your EOG administrator or proctor may tell you that you are misaligned. • It means check the number you are answering in your test book with the number you are bubbling on your answer sheet
