What’s the latest on PRLS? • What’s happening now? • PRLS applications will be available at the end of July • SVUK have finished the draft versions of the applications. • Application form • CV • 2 references • Verification of certificates • Current job description • Supporting evidence can include • Internal quality docs – obs records, student achievement data etc • Records of CPD for past 3 years • Memberships in prof orgs • Relevant specialist quals, published mats etc • Evidence of suitable awarding institution experience e.g. moderator, assessor etc • Details of suitable specialist consultancy work e.g. QCA, Inspectorates etc. • Guidance document - In addition to the applications, there will be sample answers which will be made available to applicants • Critical readers have devised and selected these sample answers • SVUK are in the process of finalising all this by the end of July • Two periods of application – autumn recognition September to December and spring recognitions January to March. • Deadline for autumn recognition – 31st October • Deadline for spring recognition – 28 February
SVUK have agreed with the DfES to do a ‘light touch’ on holders of TESOL diplomas • DfES has responded to the ESOL Committee of Enquiry’s recommendation regarding holders of TESOL diplomas to be considered as qualified for the purpose of the Success for All targets.
