Scottish Public Procurement Reform Programme • The Public Procurement Reform Programme (PPRP) was initiated in response to a review of public procurement in Scotland carried out by John F McClelland CBE, 2005-06. • The PPRP aims to improve procurement practices and engender collaboration between organisations. • Through the programme, procurement Centres of Expertise (CoE) have been established and the procurement of good/services are organised into categories – A, B & C . • Current National Strategies & Contracts • IT Hardware • IT Software – Oracle, MS • Utilities – electricity • Office Supplies • Temp/Interim Staff (incl IT) • Others… • National (Category A) Strategies & Contracts • Goods/services that are common or similar across Scottish public sector • Potential for improved cost/terms through consolidated procurement • May include best practice & guidance, e.g., toolkits • Upcoming National Strategies & Contracts • Business Management Consultancy • IT Services • Telecomms • Others…

IT Managed Services Framework - Structure and Key Points IT Managed Services GENERAL LOTS SPECIALISED LOT IT Managed Services (Large) IT Managed Services (Small) Hosting(Data Centre)Services • Planned to be awarded December 2010 • Framework Duration: 3+1 years • Mini-competitions only, no direct call-offs • Lot 1 – 4 suppliersLot 2 – 8 suppliersLot 3 – 4 suppliers • Minimum 1 year duration on call-off contracts • Average call-off contract duration expected to be 3-5 years • Services include, but are not limited to: • Public bodies will define their specific needs at mini-competition • No restriction on what mix of services are included
