OMG! [Don’t you wish your classwork was kewl like me?] oohh..Be Jealous It’s the Scientific Method! *gasp* • Observation • Question • Hypothesis • Experiment • Results and conclusion
1. Observation • One day I observed a bunch of balloons flying in the air carrying a man.
? ? ? ? 2. Question ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? How many balloons does it take to lift me up?
3. Hypothesis I think that it’ll take 3 weather balloons Skratch skratch Note: Do not try at home kids!
4. Experiment Ahhhh!
Results • I used 3 weather balloons to carry myself into the air. • It did not work! Make sure to include graphs!
5. Conclusion The experiment did not work. I had too little balloons. <sigh> I guess I should have used a dummy Results may vary. See?
Things to remember: • Multiple Trials: The more you attempt an experiment, the better results you will get. • How could we have changed this experiment to include multiple trials?
Variables: • Variable- a factor that affects how a system works • Experimental Variable-the variable you change in an experiment • Control Variable-The variables you keep the same in an experiment
