Focus On Public Safety Programs And Resources That Will Create A Safer City Entry-Level base salaries increased by more than 20% for police officers, (starting base pay increased from $31,730/yr. to $38,147/yr.). Existing Police Officers Received a $5,165 Incentive Payment in FY15-16, (Over $900,000 Total) 63 Police Officers also received an average of an additional $3,015 each, ($190,000 total) in FY 15-16. Existing Police Officers Received Step Increases (5% & 2.5%). They Also Received an Additional 5% ($1,700-$5,500 each, totaling over $500,000) In Incentive Pay Bonuses In FY 16-17. Number of Actual Officers has Increased From Low 160’s to Mid 180’s Similar 2-Year Contract was reached with the Fire Union. Fire Accepted New 2-Year Contract with 2% COLA in January 2018. Step Increases in FY 18/19 and $2950 and $2500 Incentive Bonus Respectively in FY 17/18 and FY 18/19. Raised Starting Pay to $41,000 for New Recruits. Police & City Still Negotiating
