Why Britian Entered the War • August 4th, 1914 Britian entered the war • Germany didn't withdraw from Belgium and Britian declared war on Germany • On November 5, 1914 Britain and France, Russia's allies, declared war on Turkey becasue of the help given to the German attack on Russia. ("World War One Timeline"). ("Great Britain Soldiers," n.d.).

  3. Britian and their allies won the war and according to the Treaty of Versailles Germany was forced to pay damages to Britain. Britain maintained naval power in Europe. ("World War One," n.d.). Short-Term Effects ("Treaty of Versailles," n.d.).

  4. Casualties- Dead: 658,700Wounded: 2,032,150Missing: 359,150Total: 3,050,000("The War In The Air"). There was mass unemployment, and Britian was greatly weakened after the war. Long term result: In order to solve their economic problems, they had to become eonomically self sufficient and keep out the products of other countries by building high tariff ("World War 1"). Five Themes of Global Studies • Global Interrelatedness- A majority of the countries were involved in World War One. • Indentity and Difference-  Great Britain was fighting for it's country to keep it's identity and culture from being affected by the other countries who were also fighting in the war • Technology vs. Nature- During World War One, Great Britain had the advantage of having a strong Navy.
