Annotations • Number each stanza • Text to self, text to world • Figurative language • Imagery (what does this represent?) • Tone (what words are conveying this feeling?) • Underline words/phrases that “speak” to you or that you think are important • Does the poet use repetition, alliteration, rhyme etc.? And why?
