  1. Rules and Precautions • When first entering a lab, do not touch any equipment, chemicals or other materials in the lab until you are instructed to do so. • Do not eat, drink beverages or chew gum in the laboratory.

  2. Rules • Do not run, horseplay or play pranks in the lab. • Work areas should be kept clean and tidy at all times.

  3. Chemical Safety • Dispose of all chemicals properly. Never pour chemicals down the sink unless instructed by your teacher. • Never pour left over chemicals back in their original containers. • Make sure to read all labels and equipment instructions before use. • When using chemicals, work in well-ventilated areas.

  4. Dress properly during a lab activity. Make sure that long hair is tied back and baggy clothes must be secured. Wear shoes that cover the whole foot. Always wear goggles! Clothing

  5. Accidents • Report any accidents (breakage, spillage etc.) or injury (cut, burn etc.) to the teacher immediately, no matter how minor you may think the accident is.

  6. If you are not sure of the procedures for the lab or if you don’t know how to use the lab equipment ....... ASK YOUR TEACHER! IMPORTANT!!!
