  1. Initial Work Plan Agenda Item 4 CPV Board Meeting26 July 2010

Context • Approved Charter notes that the early work of the Board should be focussed around developing advice to the Minister on: • as a priority : • the industry information essential to both the development of good policy proposals and the monitoring of industry activity/performance; and • assessment and publishing of the Draft Industry Development Plan; • a five year strategic plan for the CPV industry.

  3. Stage 1 a) Industry and Consumer Data Requirements: • the industry and consumer information (data) to be provided on a monthly basis for the taxi, minibus, private hire car and limousine sectors; • the method of CPV operators gathering and transmitting that data to the Department of Lands and Planning; • an Implementation Plan which would achieve transmission of the ongoing monthly data to the Department commencing with data for the month of July 2011; and • advice to be provided to me by end September 2010; b) Draft Industry Development Plan: • assess the suitability of the Draft Industry Development Plan to be published as the public industry and consumer guide to Government aspirations for the CPV sector; • recommend any amendment required; and • advice to be provided by end July 2010.

  4. Stage 2 • advise on a 3 to 5 Year CPV Industry Strategic Plan which: • can be adopted by Government; • sets out a practical plan for the Government and CPV sector to achieve the Initiatives outlined in the Industry Development Plan; • will position both the industry and customer service standards for the future; and • can be published and will clearly set the Government agenda for the industry and customer service standards; and • Timing - by May 2011.
