  2. December 8, 1941 US declares war to Japan after the attack of Pearl Harbor. August 2, 1943 PT-109 sunk (the submarine Kennedy was in )by a Japanese destroyer. May 31, 1944 Went to the hospital and found out he had back problems.

  3. June 12, 1944 • John is awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct as the commanding officer of PT-109. • August 12, 1944 • Johns older brother dies on a mission over the English Channel. • August 6, 1945 • Japan surrenders

  4. November 5, 1946 • Kennedy is elected to the house of Representatives. • November 12, 1948 • He is re-elected for his second term • November 7, 1950 • He is again re-elected for his 3rd term. • September 12, 1953 • John marries his wife Jacki

  5. November 27, 1957 • His daughter Caroline is born. • November 4, 1958 • John is re-elected to the senate • January 2, 1960 • John pronounces his candidacy for president. • November 8, 1960 • Kennedy becomes the 35th president of the USA • November 25, 1960 • John Kennedy Jr. is born.
