Name of Artifact:Children’s Book Assignment Date: September 26, 2013 Course: EDUC 255 Brief Description:For this assignment, I outlined 5 different children’s books that display many different facets of multi-culture. Rationale:For this assignment, I chose 5 books that can be used to educate students on the different cultures they can see around the world an in their own classroom. This activity provides the opportunity to teach multi-culture and allows students to apply their knowledge of culture in meaningful ways, such as being kind and understanding of differences.

Children are able to see how the love of a grandparent looks the same all around the world. Henry’s Freedom Box Author: Ellen Levine Illustrator: Kadir Nelson A true story of Henry, a slave, who goes through a harrowing journey to freedom. Using a crate, nails, and the help of one brave man, Henry is able to obtain the freedom he has always dreamt of.
